(Weekdays noted are applicable except for the special Christmas & New Year tour itineraries, which may vary slightly.
Wednesday--Meet/assist at the Aqaba port or land border. Transfer to your Aqaba hotel for a day at leisure on the shores of the Red Sea.
Thursday--Drive up Wadi Araba, route of the ancient spice caravans. You'll drive along the eastern shoreline of the Dead Sea to a resort hotel to enjoy day use facilities and lunch on the Dead Sea, lowest point on the earth's surface. The Dead Sea has a mineral content ten times that of the Earth's oceans--it's a guaranteed "uplifting" experience! In the afternoon visit Mt. Nebo, the site from which Moses viewed the Promised Land. Drive on to Petra for check-in. Join the "Petra by Night" tour from the Petra Visitors' Center for a romantic introduction to the legendary lost city, Overnight Petra. [BL]
Friday--Full day touring in Petra, including horseback entry, visits to the Treasury, Theater, Colonnaded Street and ad-Deir, Petra's largest carved facade. In the evening, join the fun at the Petra Kitchen as you learn to cook a traditional local meal. Overnight Petra. [BD]
Saturday--Morning return to Petra by the "secret road" route. Visit the High Place of Sacrifice, Wadi Farasa and the Royal Tombs. In the afternoon, drive to Wadi Rum for a jeep tour of the moonscape terrain. Dinner and overnight camping in the heart of the desert. [BD]
Sunday--Breakfast at campsite. Return to Aqaba for departure. [B] Or customize your program by adding on one or more of the "Sensation Amplification" extensions outlined below!

3-night/4-day "Sensation Amplification" options
Red Sea Amplifier--Travel with the Desert Delights Tour Wednesday-Sunday. Hop off the bus in Aqaba to spend three nights at leisure on the shores of the Red Sea.
Dead Sea Amplifier--Indulge your senses with three nights at a 5* resort hotel on the Dead Sea. You can add this option before the Desert Delights Tour program, staying Monday-Wednesday at the Dead Sea and then joining the group on Thursday for lunch, the visit to Mt. Nebo and the continuation to Petra. (Note: this option omits the first night in Aqaba.)
Damascus Amplifier--Spend three nights (Sunday-Tuesday) in Damascus, arguably the world's oldest city and unquestionably one of the most fascinating. You'll travel from Wadi Rum to Damascus on Sunday afternoon. The trip includes a full-day guided tour of Damascus including the Omayyad Mosque, National Museum, Straight Street, Ananias Church, the Azem Palace and the Hammadieh Souk. You'll also try an authentic Turkish Bath, and may choose to sign up for an excursion to Palmyra or Krak des Chevaliers. On Tuesday, you'll visit the ancient city of Bosra before returning to Jordan and completing your travel plans.
